Monbach Gorge is one of the most beautiful nature experiences in the Northern Black Forest. A wild stream winds through mossy rocks — a walk that delights families with children too.

From Schellbronn you can reach the area comfortably as a day trip. Pack sturdy shoes and a picnic blanket — forest and water invite you to linger along the way.
At the top of this page you will find a longer Gold city tour (~15 km) as a map and GPX track: Nagold valley, Monbach Gorge and Hohe Warte. Start e.g. at the hiking car park Ochsenbrücke near Unterreichenbach — alternative trailheads at Monbach, Neuhausen or Hohenwart.
Especially after rain the gorge is impressive: rushing water, fresh air and the deep green of the Black Forest. Nature right on your doorstep.
